Auckland Conversations: Transportation in New Zealand’s Biggest City

RAPS is pleased to welcome Darren Davis, principal public transport planer at Auckland Transport to discuss Auckland’s new network for public transport and $124 million 3-year cycling plan encompassing 52km of separated cycleways.

This is a great opportunity to see what planning international cities do in terms of transportation and what challenges and successes they have had.

All Ryerson planning students are invited to join us for an engaging evening. This event will take place in SBB 312 at 3:30pm on Tuesday, October 6th.

Darren Davis

image003Darren Davis is a proudly car-free principal transport planner at Auckland Transport with 20 years’ plus experience in transportation in Auckland, starting out as a rabble-rousing public transit lobbyist and evolving into being a planner, strategist and consultant. He has produced high-level strategic policy, successfully influenced regional and national government agencies, been involved on-the-ground in major transportation infrastructure such as the New Lynn Transit Oriented Development project, carried out public transport service design, led public transit communications and marketing, advised the rail electrification project and participated in town centre revitalization projects.
